Accessibility Statement
We want healwithinmagazine.com to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or a browser configured for high contrast or reduced motion.
1. Our target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. That is a target we work toward continuously rather than a certification we claim.
2. What we have done
- Semantic HTML. Real headings in order, real lists, real landmarks —
header, nav, main, footer— and a skip-to-content link as the first focusable element. - Contrast. Body text and interactive elements are checked against the 4.5:1 minimum; large display type against 3:1.
- Keyboard. Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring that we have deliberately not removed.
- Text over images. No text is baked into artwork, so it reflows and scales with your settings.
- Alternative text. Illustrations are decorative and marked as such so screen readers skip them rather than reading out noise; anything conveying information gets a real description.
- Reflow and zoom. The layout works down to 320 px wide and at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- Motion. We respect
prefers-reduced-motion; there is no autoplay, no carousel, no parallax and no flashing content. - Dark mode. We respect
prefers-color-schemeand maintain contrast ratios in both themes. - No pop-ups. No interstitial overlays, no exit-intent modal, no newsletter dialog blocking the article you came to read.
3. Known limitations
We are honest about the gaps: some outbound links lead to third-party sites we do not control and cannot guarantee, and long policy tables — such as those in the Privacy and Cookie policies — scroll horizontally on very narrow screens. If you hit something else, tell us; we would rather know.
4. Feedback, and how quickly we respond
Email accessibility@healwithinmagazine.com with the page URL, what went wrong, and the assistive technology and browser you were using if you know them. We aim to acknowledge within 5 working days and to fix confirmed barriers within 30 days, or explain why longer is needed. If you need content from this site in another format, ask and we will provide it.
5. Assessment
This site is assessed by internal review, using automated tooling alongside manual keyboard and screen reader testing. It has not been audited by an independent third party, and we do not claim it has.
