About us

Heal Within Magazine writes about kitchens, cleaning and the small habits that make a home easier to live in. We are small, independent, and we would rather publish one useful thing a week than five padded ones.

What we are trying to do

Household advice online fails in one of two directions. Either it is a list of a hundred uses, most of them recycled and a few of them wrong, or it is so hedged that you finish it without knowing what to actually do. We aim for the middle: here is the thing, here is how to do it properly, and here is when it will not work.

How we work

Every article is dated when published and dated again when reviewed.
We say plainly when a popular tip does not work, and why.
We flag the surfaces and situations where a method will cause damage.
We do not invent authors, ratings, reviews or user counts. Ever.
We correct errors visibly, with a dated note, rather than editing them out quietly.

Who writes it

Articles are researched, written and edited by the Heal Within editorial team and published under that name. No invented bylines and no borrowed credentials — if nobody with letters after their name reviewed a piece, we do not pretend one did.

How we pay for it

Advertising and affiliate commissions, disclosed in full on our advertising disclosure page and labelled at the top of any commercial page. No advertiser sees an article before it is published, and none of them can buy a recommendation.

What we do not do

We do not write about health. No supplements, no diets, no remedies, no advice about treating anything — including the popular claims about drinking baking soda, which we think are nonsense and say so. We write about kitchens, cleaning and the home, and we stay there. Our short disclaimer spells that out along with the household safety rules.
